Hello...Summer!

My favorite season is summer...I love the carefree days and warm summer nights...I love the pool...I love the sun.  I love air conditioning and going to the beach...just as long as my husband cleans up the sand in my car.
I've created a series of beach tiles and I love the colors...do you?

Tile Toppers...

Remember how I told you that my family LOVES countdowns.  We have countdowns for everything...countdown to Halloween, countdown to Christmas...and now the countdown to the last day of school.  I created a "tile topper" for a 8 x 5 white tile.  Just add a dry erase marker and easel...

wah...la...the perfect Countdown to the Last Day of school.  We did have the pleasure of writing a 1 on it last night and we are officially DONE!  How about that?

One of my most favorite Father's Day tiles

Okay, so I have two boys plus my husband...so 3 boys.  And I have to admit when I design...I design for the boys (i.e baseball/ fishing/ golfing)...so I loved the challenge of designing a tile for the Dad that has both a son and daughter.  The quote, "Dad, a son's first hero, a daughter's first love.  Add one awesome photo and this what you get...

The 2nd most requested tile for Father's Day is...Most Valuable Dad...

Spring is baseball season and lots of dads love baseball...quite a few even coach teams for their children.  So in honor of these dads the MVD tile is perfect.  I'm giving this one to my husband along with tickets to see the ANGELS play ball this summer!  Do you think he will like it?

Countdown to Father's Day!

We have countdowns all over the place in my house.  Countdown to Matthew's last day of school...Countdown to our Summer Vacation...and most importantly 5 days until Father's Day!  So for the next 5 days...I am going to share with you a few of most favorite tiles designed this year for the special Dad's in our lives.

I took the quote, "Anyone can be a father, it takes someone special to be a Dad."  I selected a beautiful piece of scenic artwork.  I love the natural tones in the art and the serenity of the water, clouds, along with the strength of the mountain.  I tiled it, propped it in a stand and covered it with a glass dome for the perfect display.  Doesn't it look beautiful?

Countdown to Father's Day!

Open House...

It was Open House at my son's school last night.  What a blast!  I'm amazed at all of the learning and development that has taken place this school year.  It's hard to believe that summer vacation is right around the corner.  I designed a series of tiles for the special teacher in your life.  What do you think?

It all started with...Tiles for my Nativity Set

Some people ask how Thoughtful Tiles started...well it all started with tiles for my Nativity Set. Back in November I attended a fabulous workshop by a company called HERITAGE MAKERS...they have wonderful ideas for the world of digital scrapbooking.  One gal pasted artwork to 6 x 6 tiles.  I thought...I could do that...but what art was I going to create and where was I going to put them.  I just pulled my Santos Nativity Set out of the overhead garage storage and thought it would be great to place scripture on tiles and accompany my Nativity Set...telling the CHRISTMAS STORY.  So I did just that...and my friends and family loved how the tiles were sprinkled throughout my nativity scene.  What do you think?
